Botswana Firearms Permit Hunters planning to hunt in Botswana are required to obtain their firearms permit ahead of time through their outfitter. This permit must be obtained at least 30 days in advance of arrival at the Botswana border. Without prior arrangements, it is not possible to obtain the Botswana permit upon arrival. Prohibited firearms in Botswana are semi and fully automatic rifles and shotguns and military-type weapons.
